OUR OYSTERS

“Oystering is part of Milford’s heritage and future.”

Robert Gregory, president of Milford Chamber of Commerce 1979

For over 150 years, the portion of the Long Island Sound located off the coast of Milford has been a productive breeding ground for oystering. Briarpatch takes pride in utilizing these naturally situated waters to cultivate quality oysters from seed and harvesting through packaging.

From the outside, many different oysters appear to be the same but the unique location of Briarpatch's oyster beds - between the Housatonic River and the Wepawaug River - creates the ideal environment of salinity and food resource resulting in naturally delicious tasting products.

Thanks! We will be in touch shortly.
